Telling Stories from Home
Since launching my strategic storytelling studio at the beginning of August, it has been an adventure here at my home office in Englewood, Colorado. I’ve worked with movers and shakers from Los Angeles to New York City to India to help them tell their stories.
I’d like to take a moment to share what I’ve been up to, and the incredible organizations I’ve worked with over the past five months. Thank you all for working with me!
VELLORE CHRISTIAN MEDICAL COLLEGE FOUNDATION
The Vellore Christian Medical College Foundation supports India’s first medical college for women. The Foundation raises funds to support the groundbreaking work happening at CMC today. I worked with the Foundation’s staff to create their print and digital annual report, which featured video interviews with CMC’s leading scientists. I was humbled to produce interviews with Gagandeep “Cherry” Kang — AKA India’s “vaccine godmother”, Vrisha Madhuri — an innovative scientist who invented a device that corrects clubfoot in children, and other medical doctors and researchers whose work has saved hundreds of thousands of lives, especially within underserved communities.
Want to learn more about the incredible work this organization is doing? Check out their annual report, watch the video interviews, and read the latest edition of their Voices of Vellore newsletter — designed, written, and produced here at Kanitha Studio.
SNUG
Parenting is hard. Parenting during a pandemic is really hard. Snug, a Denver-based company, makes parenting a little easier by delivering all your baby essentials to you exactly when you need it. You can update your order via text at any time and they’ll never ring your doorbell. (Rule #1: never wake a sleeping baby.) Not only do I support Snug’s efforts, but I also am a Snug customer. (Support small businesses, y’all!)
I love supporting startups, and the experience working with this slim team has been fast-paced (as expected), varied in all of the ways, and FUN. That last part is so important to me. Being a solopreneur with limited time and resources, I deliberately choose who I work with, and so, I choose working with people who bring me joy. I’ve supported Snug since their launch, and I’m continuing to do so as they grow and scale. From working with the founders on business strategy to designing surveys to better understand their target market to crafting social media content, I’ve touched several parts of the business.
For startups who are looking for support in several areas, get in touch. I’d love to chat about how I can support your business.
EQUITY LABS
Equity Labs is a new diversity, equity, and inclusion program that is geared towards making real change at organizations. With an emphasis on practice, practice, practice, Equity Labs is NOT for the faint of heart. It’s for people and companies who want to tackle the systemic issues at their organizations head on and co-create new ways of being. I am one hundred percent on board with what they do, what they stand for, and their vision for the future. I am humbled to bring their freshly launched website to life. In collaboration with StorySpring Consulting, I led the content strategy, site map, and content creation for the new Equity Labs website.
Do you want a website refresh or are you in need of a new website? Let’s chat! And please, please, please do yourself a favor and check out Equity Labs and share their amazing work with others who would be interested in their DEI work.
DON MISCHER PRODUCTIONS
Speaking of website refreshes, Don Mischer Productions (DMP) asked for one. DMP is the team behind producing Super Bowl Halftime Shows, the Emmy Awards, Academy Awards, Brene Brown’s latest Netflix Special (a must watch), and many more television and experiential events and programs. In collaboration with Cultivo Media, I delivered their new website in two weeks. TWO WEEKS. Tight timelines? That kind of nuttiness drives me, in a good way.
The DMP team was gearing up for a big announcement, and they wanted their website to reflect their updated brand, vision, and work. I was a content strategist and site map developer on this project, and it was a fast, furious, and fun adventure. Check out their website here, and watch their showreel below. (Queen Bey appears at 1:11.)
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to my clients who are all around amazing people to work with, and organizations who are doing incredible work. I am humbled to have been able to help your share your stories.
